IF I could add one thing to the + side for satellite work............now and then you encounter a situation where all the interior wire is run...AND the exterior cable run to the dish has been done by another tech for a previous resident.
In those situations you do inspect everything and, while installing the receivers...check signal level. Inspect the existing dish & mount....fix anything questionable............Even after all that you can be ouit of an installation of 4our room in less than an hour.
The existing wire is common....from the cable company or the other sat guy. The correct dish with proper cabling also happens. They pay the same for these. They may balance the long rides to No Line of Sight (NLOS) site visits they do not pay for unless you are an in-house employee......DO NOT let them try to convert employee hours tp points or piece work.
