Yes, there are many mom and pop servers and they are only as good as there small network bandwidth. For example We are in the boothill of Missouri and Ookla defaults to Union City TN so many of our customers use that site. The bad thing is they never get results over a Meg so they call us thinking they Have slow speeds. Frustrating because we try and educate the customer to use multiple sites and take an average and we give them examples. They will not listen.
My goal is to set up a Internal Speed test server for our network only. Since we can not control routing in the world its hard to verfiy to the customer what they are getting.
The idea is that the customer is paying for bandwidth on my network the only place I have control. So I want the customer to be able to test just my plant from modem to headend.
