If it is untrue, then why are you getting so defensive? You slander yourself, you need no outside help to do that.
The best thing to do when something is incorrect, is to not give it legitimacy by responding to it, just a little lesson for your future endeavors.
By responding, you are all but admitting that there is some fact to the issue. Though I do not expect you to understand this, I'm sure it is above your pay grade and education level.
