lol...Why would I, or anyone for that matter, feel humilated. Workers in a Southern, Red, Conservative state voted not to join a union. Why would this be considered a big suprise. If anything, I was a bit surprised that the vote was as close as it was.

Just a reminder, unions win about 60% of certification elections. That number gets much higher in elections where the employer stays neutral,as did VW. The most interesting thing about this election was that this was first time I have ever seen elected officials, and not company hired lawyers, step in to do the union busting, when an employer decided to stay neutral. This, along with the rather close election results, is proof to me that unions may soon be able to win elections in southern red states.
