Can alway do what I did and get your RCDD cert, lots of work for people who can design and oversee construction of cat5/6, copper, fiber, comm rooms, building infrastructure, and what not.
Made the switch 5 years ago and, I'm making a good living doing it. Pay check rolls in every 2 weeks, good benefits, mainly inside work. Still put a lot of what I learned doing cable and fiber to good use.
If I wanted to work in LA I could make 130K to 170K doing it, but I really don't want to live in CA. I deal with enough of that kind here in DC, for me not worth the extra 20Kto move.
