Lightmaster is right... I would start by learning installs at home and then move on. These companies, especially in Florida, are so desperate for installers that they will have you trained up in no time. I have spliced and installed and splicers are way smarter than installers. oh, I would find out if the company you are working for is the prime for the MSO or just another corp of the prime. Try to go with the prime if you can.
In 6 months you should know enough that you can work just about anywhere. When you feel you are ready to move I would call around. Don't listen to all the negativity around here on the bar. I can name several friends of mine working on certain projects that have been making 2500plus a week. Yeah they have hotels and other expenses but their are still high paying cities.
Because you have some splicing experience, I would look at something that is right in front of your eyes... PM me and I will tell ya.. Its way better than installs and way money.
