A lot of blank reply post are when people want to delete the post, there is no 'delete' option, so the only thing to do is edit and remove all the text. This also happens when the site double post your reply, which happens sometimes.
As for censorship, the site owner has the final say on what is posted on his site, he pays for it, he owns it, he has the right to remove a post if he wants to.
