Midcontinent is the Prime MSO and Knology is the over-builder, but they were just sold to Wide Open West (WOW). Centurylink bought Qwest 3 years ago and is just now starting to rebuild their plant. In ND, you can only dig 6 months of the year because the rest of the time the ground is frozen, I kid you not! SD winters are a little better but the ground freezes there also, for many months. Knology uses in-house only, Midco uses contractors. Centurylink would be a good bet, but if you move to ND, you can get paid $25 just for working at McDonalds, so do not sell yourself short. I know one contractor doing laderals and the guys were making $60/hr! Housing is scarice in ND and quite expensive because they can't build enough houses during the short work year. i just moved back to So. Cal. after doing 4 years there.
