They stole 'christmas' from a pagan holiday, like they did most 'christian' holidays, all stolen from pagan or other beliefs at the time. The reason? Christianity is a fraud.
Christmas: originated as the festival around the winter solstice, pagan holiday.
Easter: Spring Festival, Pagan holiday.
Christians also stole most of their beliefs from other much older religions. Basically nothing in the bible is original, only they names changed.
