The last time the Republicans shut down the government they picked up 2 seats in the senate and lost 1 in the house, so it's all good.
The republicans have offered a compromise with a CR that will fund everything but Obamacare and a debt ceiling increase, but it's the democrats and the president who say they will not budge.
I hope they do shutdown the government, it's happened before in the 70's, 80's, 90's and the funny thing is America is still here. Like I said before a shut down will most likely help the republicans.
The Democrats are trying to frighten people just like they did with the sequestration. They said the government would have to drastically cut services, there would be massive furloughs of 22 days, everything would come to a complete stop. None of that happened. Obama tried to make sequestration hurt the American people by furloughing air traffic controllers, but when congress found it would imped their travels suddenly the FAA found the money to stop the furloughs.
The majority of the American people have had enough of the current administration and the liberal democrat party, the only people that don't see the writing on the wall are people like you, but you will, you will.
