The links must be optimized individually. I don't recall the levels for each link, but if you have the manuals, or can find them, follow them for specifics.
1. Inject first at the node TP, ensuring the proper levels into the transmitter, pad as needed.
2. Measure RF output of reciever in mux node, pad to proper input to mux transmitter.
3. Measure RF output of receiver in HE, pad to proper input to CMTS
4. Repeat for all nodes off the mux
If the mux node utilizes a digital return, the process is much easier and much more stable over time/temp. If still analog return, strongly suggest looking at replacement to digital. This has been done in several of the old mFN/OXiom/Lightwire designs with great success.
