The pricing wouldn't be that bad if it were good dirt, but the kc area is generally red clay, shale, or sand stone. I'm not saying there aren't any good areas but most of these subdivisions were built on a rock pile and in most places they are the 4th or 5th utility in the easement. It's just not an easy area to come bore with small rigs and the pay doesn't support larger drills and forget a rock price it's less than we do dirt for. As for the installers and splicers I don't have any first hand knowledge, all I have heard on that end is that it's disorganized a lot of hurry up and wait again the pricing isn't that bad if you can have a high production rate but for some reason that isn't happening.
