The reason he said that was because Axlerod and the rest of his campaign people where in damage control becuse he called them in to help figure out how to get out of this mess. Plus the low information people will believe him . I have never seen one person divide a country as much as he has since the Civil War. I think its what he intends do and its working. Soros is proud of him.
