google chromecast

I bought one of those chromecast  video streamers.....it works fine ....i had to drop the nat on my router to get it to work......the question i have is this thing plugs into an hdmi port on my hd tv but i have an old tv and i was wondering if a satelite reciever for dish network would work using this on my older tv....i havent even look at the reciever and im not a satelite person....but does  sat reciever have an hdmi input on it or is it only output?
