To think contracting to a sub of an HSP is the only way to go is some bad thinking. If they are gonna hold your checks for 3 weeks because you are working to better yourself, well you got your answer. I would run as fast as I can. Obviously losing pay is no fun. Doing work for free is no fun either. I would rather have less work spend more time with my family then work long hours and do a bunch of free work.
You can always work with multiple of retailers. If you get 1 job from 1 and another 1 from another, whocares. They both will probably pay close to the same and have the same type of paperwork. Heck you may get lucky and get paid every week or sometimes multiple times a week. All depends who you work with and what you want to be.
I always say if you want to be a low wage slave a pretender contractor just to feel like your independent but not, go work for the HSP. If you want to be free and make your own schedule and work for who you want? go find them. Heck you already have the certs and the insurance so why in the world would anyone want someone to law down the law on their own business?
I know there are people making money by working with HSPs and that's great. Most of the time you have to cheat the system to do that. Which I don't agree with. The way I look at it is be an employee for an HSP or other company and use all the benefits you get out of it... Or find your own contracts!
Yes there will be some other person willing to take your spot and who knows might even be willing to work for less. But whocares? The big companies will have to deal with that later and the cost of it later. Real companies are in for the long haul and don't want stuff biting them in the A.
