not sure about your state, but in alabama, florida, ms. that i have worked you can not be covered by w/c on yourself, if you are an owner operator. the employer has to be responsible for all claims and authorization for w/c to be payed to employee. they have all ways told me you can not authorize a pay out to your self , kinda makes sense when you think about it. if you got a ins. company letting you pay it on yourself you may get screwed when time comes to claim.????????? you can buy however a self employed accident policy which covers about the same and was much cheaper than w/c if you are concerned about your self being coverd. My g/c with 2 million coverage is bout 900 year,
less than 20 a week if you break it all the way down. good luck
