I was always taught that seeking god is a never ending journey that leads not only to one’s spiritual growth but also one’s personal growth as a human being. This in turn makes one a better person as they practice what they learn both spiritually and personally. Therefore one that does not seek god fails to grow both personally and spiritually. They become stunted in their own personal interactions with others and in reality are truly unhappy with themselves and their life’s direction. While they can acquire success in their profession, and many of the material possessions that people acquaint with happiness, they are never satisfied. This in turn makes them even unhappy with themselves. Because they are unable to grow spiritually or personally, they tend to live their whole life without being able to take pleasure in anything life has to offer while claiming they are happy.
“Just as a candle cannot burn without fire, man cannot live without a spiritual life.” (Buddha)
