My name is Matt Christopher. I'm a contractor currently in the Adelphia
Vermont system, working on Drops and swings, for a grand total of about one
month I was rewiring buildings for them.
I have four years rebuild experience, with the first two years in Drop and
tap work, as well as small MDU (3-4 unit rewires). The past two years have
been in MDU work down in Cablevision Boston. I have experience in coaxial
splicing,rough balancing, aerial/under-ground construction for plant
extensions, and have done redesign for mdu projects when needed, complete
with cad design. I'm currently seeking an A+ certification, but I made my
bones doing drops.
As a single man crew, my best week ever was 150,no gigs. With a partner,
I've broken two hundred in a good area, but I prefer to work by myself so I
don't have to babysit. I will average between 20-35 a day, and will and do
work no matter what the weather save lightning or being told otherwise.
Honestly, its not the most mentally challenging area of telecommunications,
but I love the simplicity of the work.
I have my own tools, late model truck, and insurance. I also know of
about five HARDCORE drop crews (two single,three two man) who would love the
opportunity to work within fifty miles of home.
