So if this kid was wearing a t-shirt stating "God is Fake, there is no God" you would think differently I'm sure, but its just a t-shirt right?
I would not allow a child of mine to wear that shirt, no matter what my beliefs.
You don't seem to understand rules and dress code, the school has discretion in that matter, if they deemed it unfit to wear at school, then the child should have listened to their superiors, regardless of the issue, a child should not question a teacher, police officer, or school official, it is not a child's job to do that. The child should have listened to the direction of the adult in charge, then if there was a problem, the parents should have brought the issue up to the principal. This child was disrespectful to an authority figure, there is no excuse for that in this situation.
Now I'm sure you will come back with some drastic example of "well what if the teacher told him to strip nude in front of the class" or some BS, but we could come up with examples of things all day long, the point is, in this situation, the child, and the child's parents, were wrong.
