It is the magneto in the weed eater that is causing the problem, I don't know how you would filter for it though. We had the same problem and now the landscapers are not allowed into the dish farm. If there is a specific time every week / month he does the work put a crawl on the screen the morning of, telling the customers what and who is causing the problem. A little public shaming might do the trick to get him to cooperate and accept the new machine.
