I demo'd the Fujikura 70S fusion splicer today. Burned 84 fiber and it worked great. My only issues are the lack of a heat shrink tray, other than the one included in the work station. The work station is too bulky for my taste and would be placed on a shelf if mine. The automated wind protector and fiber clamps work really well. After getting used to the machine, I was able to blow through fiber a little bit faster than my Fuji 60S. I did 84 fiber in about 3 hours. It didnt take long to get used to the process. The heat shrink oven is amazing. By the time I had the second fiber loaded, the oven was finished within 2 seconds. I was pretty impressed with it. I plan to let them work out the bugs and buy one next year.
Anyone else had a chance to play with one yet?
