Depends on the state. All I know is satellite.
Satellite I recommend at least getting SBCA for TV dishes like dish or directv. Companies will contract with you with out it, but it is a bit easier.
Most require 2,000,000 GL 1,000,000 per occurance. Normally you want to get a business license. The type is up to you and do your research. People chose different ways for different reasons.
Get yourself commercial auto. Some companies don't care and others do. I have 2 companies that requires me to carry 1,000,000.
Workers comp can be required but most states will allow you to be exempt. If it is just you. Some charge a fee.
Have a good supplier for cable and fittings.
Start contacting businesses to get work.
I'd try and work with everyone you can and let them know you'll be their fall back guy. A lot of companies like to know your not dependent on them. The IRS likes that as well.
Remember work always going up and down.
