 Depends on the state.  All I know is satellite.

Satellite I recommend at least getting SBCA for TV dishes like dish or directv.  Companies will contract with you with out it, but it is a bit easier.

Most require 2,000,000 GL 1,000,000 per occurance.  Normally you want to get a business license.  The type is up to you and do your research.  People chose different ways for different reasons.

Get yourself commercial auto.  Some companies don't care and others do.  I have 2 companies that requires me to carry 1,000,000.

Workers comp can be required but most states will allow you to be exempt.  If it is just you.  Some charge a fee.

Have a good supplier for cable and fittings.

Start contacting businesses to get work.

I'd try and work with everyone you can and let them know you'll be their fall back guy.  A lot of companies like to know your not dependent on them.  The IRS likes that as well.

Remember work always going up and down.
