Nationwide, it's happening all over.  I'm with you, I laugh at them! I have invested wisely and have money in reserve so I walk away-if you want quality work, you have to pay decently.  I actually had one a few months ago, they wanted a GURU, but wanted to pay nothing.  Before they made an offer, I talked to their LEAD Tech, asked him a few basic technical questions (he'd been there 7 years as lead tech) and he got them WRONG?? Then when the owner made an offer, I was honestly stunned as well, cordially bid farewell and went home.  They called me three more times upping the money and promising all kinds of bonuses etc.., but that initial offer just turned me off and I'm still smiling since, in the end, you will get what you pay for.....
