After losing several thousand cable, phone and Internet subscribers in the fourth quarter, Cable One said Wednesday that it will spend $60 million to upgrade its infrastructure.
The Phoenix-based cable MSO said it will upgrade 50,000 amplifiers, install 600 new nodes, replace 800 miles of cable and add about 600 miles of fiber. It didn't name the technology vendors that will supply it with gear.
"We're confident that this investment will ensure that our customers will receive superior service in the speed, reliability, and the overall performance of our services," Cable One CEO Tom Might said in the announcement.
Cable One parent company Washington Post Co. reported in February that the Cable One systems lost 11,442 video, 3,573 high-speed Internet and 1,119 telephone subscribers in the fourth quarter.
