DIY DSAM repair

Hello every one. I work in the training and quality dept for a michigan cable co and was recently given the responsibilty of managing our fleet of DSAMs and our TPP server. I got some minimal training on it from my predecessor and can do the routine stuff reasonably well. Most of our DSAMs are out of warranty and we pay(what seems to me) a considerable amount for repairs anually. I'm looking for resources to perform some of these repairs myself. For example, I have a DSAM on my desk right now that froze during a firmware upgrade. I havn't powered it off or rebooted it yet but it seems completely unresponsive. Can any one point me towards a good resource for DIY repair or give any suggestions it would be appreciated.
