Who does a dog answer to? or a cat? or a wolf? They are all made up of 98% of the same DNA as Humans. We answer to society, while alive, we have a social order some what similar to a pack of dogs or wolves, or a troop of primates, one person sets the rules, the rest fall in place, and is socially unacceptable to to break those rules, unless you can over throw the one in charge. If you are unable to over throw the one in charge, you are either killed or outcast, and being a social animal, one cannot survive alone, so we, along with other social groups, bend to the will of society.
This is seen time and time again in all social orders, wolves, dogs, primates, and lions.
