Actually the announcement was made last Saturday by Regime ObamaCare bean-counters who said there is no more money to cover anyone with a preexisting condition who hasn't already signed-up (apparently about 100,000 people signed up). The deadline in most states was last Saturday February 16 and will close down in every state not later than March 2, 2013. Many may recall that the was one of the major "selling points" touted by ObamaCare supporters, together with the assurance that health insurance rates would not rise, you could keep your existing policy if you wanted, and the cost would be about $900,000,000.00 billion dollars. SORRY! Cost is now pushing $3,000,000,000.00 trillion dollars, your healthcare costs will likely skyrocket, and you won't be able to keep your existing policy. As a matter of fact, private healthcare insurance will most likely be terminated and you will be forced to take a "government healthcare policy" or pay an increasingly steep penalty to the IRS which Chief Justice John Roberts ruled was a legitimate exercise of the government's authority to tax us peons (even though the ObamaCare attorneys had argued furiously that it was NOT A TAX.) Many still wonder if Mr. Obama's threats directed at the Supreme Court after oral argument had any influence on Roberts' bizarre decision (bizarre because Roberts was thought to be the most conservative member of the Court, yet he actually wrote the decision supporting ObamaCare.) Many still suspect Roberts has something else up his sleeve, but it appears more and more likely that he simply lost his nerve. Supposedly, ObamaCare's preexisting condition coverage will be offered again in the future - although with 24 states having opted-out of setting-up their own healthcare insurance "exchanges" (meaning the federal government will not be able to pass-off the cost of ObamaCare to those States (likely bankrupting those states which is why they opted-out))), it's beginning to appear very questionable how the federal government, which is already bankrupt, is going to fund the unexpected multi-trillion dollar additional cost. Still think the United States will avoid a financial meltdown before Obama's 2nd Term ends? You better hope so, or Obama may be the last "president" ever elected; especially if the Constitution is suspended.
