Re: 750 Gainmaker forward sweep problem

Waveguy,

What you may have is a RF grounding problem within the amplifier itself. I have seen this when the Gainmaker cover has been removed and replaced leaving a screw or series of screws loose causing the ground plane to be disrupted. This happens quite frequently if the AGC module was replaced and a careless individual does not take the time to tighten all 13 (or more) torx head screws. Keep in mind that the Gainmaker chassis must also be completely tight to keep the RF ground between chassis and housing. Be careful not to overtighten the hold down screws and having one break off in the housing that will also cause a grounding problem with sweep response issues.

If you have a grounding response issue at a specific amplifier, this response will continue in cascade as it distorts the response and is carried down the cascade.

Hope this helped.
