They have not, hence my statement, the economy has been crap for 50 years. Thank you for being an idiot, or maybe you just can't read properly.
Big Companies are worse, they make cheap products that have to be replaced all the time, by doing this, they are wasting resources and filling up land fills.
When was the last time you had your TV fixed, your Microwave fixed, your stereo fixed, any practical appliance or electronic product...probably never, its because companies have made it cheaper to just go buy a new one, and throw the old one away, when typically, to repair the old one, would be more economic in the true form, efficient use of material resources. In electronics, most repairs would be on the board, probably a resistor or capacitor in most cases, these parts, if replaced, are less than $5, they are tiny, and can be easily recycled.
