You can use stuff called Liquid Tape in a Can, you can get it at any Lowes or Home Depot
It comes in several colors, Black, Red, Blue, Green, Yellow and Orange.
It will stand up to many years of salt water, I used it to seal hull fittings on my boats in the Florida Keys.. Real good shit.
