  Have never seen a fiber damaged by being blow in. Also, the sequentials do not get worn off of the sheath. Splicers need to document cable id #, and footage at the end of the duct in the manhole, as well as the footage at the entrance to the splice case.

  I have seen the style of winching that you described, and I know you have seen the half hitch tied to the bumber method as well, being dragged for a mile on the ground.
