>Job Description: Advanced Broadband seeks to hire a dynamic, highly motivated individual to perform all duties associated with the installation and maintenance of private residential broadband systems in Northern VA. Duties may include:
>
>Network Construction & Installation
>- Provide support to the Project Manager and subcontractors in the installation of headend equipment as well as outside plant network construction. Install fundamental active and passive network components such as cables, connectors, taps, line extenders, ground blocks, splitters, etc.
>
>Residential Wiring
>- Install low voltage wire such as RG-6 coax and CAT-5 cables.
>- Install and terminate faceplates, splitters, and amplifiers.
>- Perform basic continuity and signal testing.
>
>Customer Installations & Support
>- Install & configure ethernet cards and cable modems.
>- Basic software configuration - drivers, email accounts, web browser, etc.
>- Provide basic on-site technical support to cable TV and Internet subscribers.
>
>Job Requirements: Thorough knowledge of HFC network technology including headend equipment and distribution network components. Ability to diagnose network and customer troubles, restore service outages and maintain network integrity from head end to customer termination. Basic mechnical skills required to install inside wiring for additional outlets in residential environment. Experience reading network design prints and knowledge of test equipment used in all aspects of CATV operations. Ability to plan and prioritize workflow. Ability to deal with the public in a professional manner. Ability to communicate both orally and in writing in a clear and straightforward manner.

>Desired Skills: Knowledge of data networks, CAT 5 wiring, and fiber splicing. Above average computer skills. Ability to work independently and within unstructured environment. Strong willingness to learn new technologies.
