If you use your own laptop for setting up a customer's internet, this tip should save you from rebooting and from using cmd to refresh IP addresses.
open notepad
type the following lines:
ipconfig /release
ipconfig /renew
next, save the file to your desktop. When you save it, make sure to choose all files in the box below what you name the file as. When you save it, make the name refresh.bat. By having the .bat extension, it will be a batch file that you can double-click on your desktop and it will automatically open a command window and release and renew the ip address. Saves considerable time over rebooting and saves time over manually opening a command window.
