Show me any proof that the government is trying to ban guns?
Show me any legislation that says "Bring all your firearms to the federal government, they are no longer legal"
All that has been discussed is banning 'assault' type weapons, do I agree with it? No, I don't think putting a ban on it will stop some one that really wants one to find a way, but after the mass slaughter of 20 2nd graders, the public outcry needs to be addressed, any party in power at the time has to answer that outcry. ( if republican would have been the president he would have done the same thing )
Don't give me this 2nd ammendment BS,it clearly states well regulated militia, and the right to bear arms will not be infringed they are not infringing on your right to arms. But that being said, a rocket launcher is a fire arm, do you think everyone should be able to go out and buy one at wal-mart? Use some common sense, name one reason you would need a .223 calibar military style rifle (AR-15) with a 30 round clip?
We used M16 A2 in the Army, and the A4 ( shorter version, lighter) these things were designed to kill people, and they were deathly good at it, even a lot of the military say these type of weapons should not be available for civilians.
