It may sound cold but as the saying goes don't do the crime if you can't do the time, unforchantly in this day and age doing your time don't stop when you get out of the joint.
He may be able to be a grunt on a line crew or on an underground crew, but if he has any type of probation he may not be able to travel and unless your working inhouse for an MSO traveling is what you got to do to make money.
