I'm not sure why the subject of Hitler came up around Christmas time (must be a liberal), but here are a few things that connect Hitler with someone else we know. Hitler came into power because Germany was going through a Great Depression. The people were out of work and starving. They were getting nothing but indecision from their elected leaders. Hitler campaigned with the slogan "Freedom and Bread" and promised change. He started a furious propaganda campaign which included promoting class and race warfare. He had the Nazi party give free stuff to the poor that were out of work. He started a whirlwind schedule of campaign speeches where he criss-crossed Germany in an airplane descending from the clouds into the arms of growing numbers of fanatics.
