Not only were there guns in the racks, out school gun club shot in the classroom during lunch. Reload a shell with just the primer and fill it with wax and it will punch a hole in a piece of cardboard at 25', but not in the plywood behind it. We had respect for weapons, we were taught what they would do and what they were for.
