Re: Hsd Help

So everyone is saying not possible. I will say not plausible.
If you have money and want to order a bunch of specialized RF filters, you can probably do it with a decent diplexer or backward 2 way splitter, but it would be cheaper and easier to just run an additional line, even if your talking about paying an electrician to wall fish it.

The way it would work is you would have to put a filter on the dish service that blocks all cable frequencies so the dish woudl not pick up noise and run it in at the diplexer. These filters are usually ordered in mass bulk [and again this is specialized becasue no one produces one at this time, that I am aware of, so you will be paying for the design and product]. Striaght diplexing the two onto one line does not work right, if allows nois in for the hsd return. Also keep in mind this is a 2 way splitter so your attenuating signal for both services doing this. From the diplex point the line runs to the outlet you then use a 2 way to split the lines again, at this point you may want to put another pair of filters on also which is getting heavy on insertion and passive loss from multiple filters and splitters/diplexer.

In the end, the others are righ,t run a second outlet for just the internet service over cable. IN the world of thought and theory it is possible, but in the world of physics and cost it's not plausible.
