Are you discussing fully automatic or semi-automatic? Do you know the difference? The media throws the term assault rifle around all the time describing non - assault rifles. Most fervent anti-gun people are ignorant of the facts about firearms. I have owned several semi automatic rifles legally. I never have applied for the FFL class 3 to legally own a fully automatic firearm. Most people do not and the majority of fully automatic guns in the USA are owned illegally by nefarious individuals if you do not include law enforcement and military.
I am not suggesting that you are a dumbshit like most anti-gun individuals.
