Re: Cable Contractor

You are exactly right, as the old saying goes it takes money to make money.  The point I was trying to get across is that you don't have $200,000 to get a contract.  There are always people on here asking what they need to do to get a contract and where to start, there are a ton of people on here who are leading these people down the wrong track by telling them that they have to have tons of money and that they are going to lose their ass if they get an install contract.  There is money to be made and it does not have to be at a price that is going to be out of reach.  There are still a ton of contract companies here in Texas that do not use company trucks or tools and these same companies also do not take out taxes, their guys work strictly 1099.  Time Warner is the main prime in my city and there are a total of 12 different contractor companies in the market, some do sales, some do installs and troubleshooting, and some do field collections.  Hardly any of these offer company trucks and the ones that do pay you less for your work while using their truck thus more people use their own vehicles.  There are ways to cut corners to get your foot in the door with less capital.  There is no way to cut all the corners so yes it will still take a good deal of money just not as much as a bunch of people here are trying to lead people to believe when they are asking for help.
