Lets see...if a public leader said " I am going to kill my son because I love you all so much" what would we do to that person?  

I'm sorry, someone or thing that would kill his own son (which I don't believe BTW, just stating hypothetical) or say you can only 'worship' him and no one else, or face the jealousy and wrath of 'god'...

If god is in fact god, why would he be jealous? Jealousy is a human emotion..
