In reality companies will run as long as they can with risks at hand. Contractors
won't have any risks of losing their work because they are not employees.
So people losing their jobs after the election is a stupid Idea. If it happends at the end of a company fiscal year it may make sence. If my tax year ends on Jan and obamas health care requirements are gonna take most of my profits away, I wouldn't stop my company from working until that day.
But every company is different and has different way of doing things. My guess is most companies will try to hold on as long as they can.
In these times its all about being creative.
