No,,,,you didn't raise more questions. Pretty much have already done what you have mentioned. Except for checkin 1490, or discrete and splicing, didn't want to cut off 5 ft. and start over on someone else's work unless I had to. 

Evidently,,,I didn't give enough info. 

Spec for TW is .30 spliced in DS mode and .15 for AW spliced in SM.The high losses were all over the ribbon, inside, outside, and not as many in AW as there was in TW.

When it was spliced, it was burnt blind. I was just given the folks who spliced it, and the machines,  the benefit of doubt. Because there was an extremely high percentage of reburns.

Long story short,,,, DS auto mode didn't work, had to go into manual DS and change temp and duration,,,plus otdr on both ends watchin. Why this wasn't done in the first place,,,,,,I don't have an answer for that.
