"Tin foil hat" that's funny coming from someone wearing a beanie with a propeller on top. This is in Obamacare. The employer mandate will apply to all firms with 50 or more employees. If an employer fails to provide "qualifying health insurance" (which is defined by Obama-appointed bureaucrats at the Department of Health and Human Services) they will have to pay a per-employee excise tax of $2000 per employee ($3000 if the coverage is through an exchange). A employer with 100 employees could find themselves paying a tax of $300,000 per year. Even if an employer provides insurance but is deemed "unqualified" by HHS. Now here's the kicker. If an employer provides insurance that is deemed "exessive" by HHS then the tax on having a "cadilac plan" kicks in. So what's an employer to do? Go ahead and spin that propeller if it helps you think before you answer.
PS Before you answer you might want to factor in (add) taxes on anyone making $250,000 a year going up to 39.6%.
