It should be difficult to get a Mortgage, the lax of regulations in the real estate sector is what caused the economy to crash in the first place, is it so horrible that banks want to make sure someone can repay $100,000's dollars. Lets say you are a bank, and someone wants to borrow $10k from you, are you going to just give it to them with out making sure they can repay you?
