Here in DC, Northrop Grumman, General Dynamics, General Electric, Boeing and many other defence contractors have started handing out layoff notices. They say the DC area is expected to lose over 200k jobs either by or shortly after the first of the years.
Most of them were going to send out the notices in Oct because the law says they are required to give 60 days advance notice, but the Obama administration told them to wait until after the election.They did not want 200+k layoff letters hitting mailboxes just days before the election. They also said that the government would pay for any leagle expenses they might incur for not following the law. So we the tax payers will pickup the bill.
There ale also companies that have cut or are planning to cut employees hours to under 30 hours a week so they can advoid paying for Obamacare. Obamacare considers 30 hours or more full-time employment. 30 hours as full-time, with thinking like that no wonder Obama claims unemployment is going down.
