I agree with john here, the tax records are a non issue, he probably did not cheat on his taxes, but he had enough money to hire a team to find every loop hole in the tax code to pay as little as he could. Everyone does that, every time you go to HR Block to have your taxes done, you are paying someone to find as many loop holes to decrease your tax burden. You can't blame the person, blame the tax laws.
