I have been able to make good money in cable which is why I stick with it but the trick is to find a company that is willing to pay decent wages and pay you on time. The only way I found to make good money in satellite was to work for a different type of company where they mailed the customer all of the receivers and dish and you only showed up to install what they had. I was making 85/15 with them so on a 2 box install I was at $100 the only problem there was that there was not enough work to make it worth my time. I was only getting about 3-5 installs a week tough to live on $300 to $500 a week plus having to pay for supplies and gas.
