I have never done an install, but did a rebuild in San Francisco in the 80's. I've run strand and cable through holes in walls out the other side of the attic, I've seen where the rock wheel cut a slot through the ceiling of basement that was dug in the 1800's and was never on any city plan and of course there is always working in the Noe Valley and Castro districts where you meet some flamboyant characters.
