I worked for snet/sbc/at+t for 30 yrs. (26 as a res./bus. installation and repair tech..the rest as a cable repairman and as a cable splicer) before taking a buyout from them in 2009. Thinking about getting back into the business as a contractor. Would anyone tell me what being a contractor is like?
I actually worked a short time for a contractor here in ct. but management were a bunch of a-holes as was the dude who was training me (ridiculously low pay, working til 11p at nite..).
Also, I was told that if I drove their company vehicle, I had to submit to their schedule
as opposed to if I purchased my own van and tools I could make my own hours...is this true and has
anyone ever heard of this?
